A night to remember

Perched in the Hollywood Hills, with the city lights twinkling below, Kara and Luke Cook opened their home for an unforgettable Seatopia Dinner Series evening. Guests gathered around a cocktail hour before moving to a seated dinner with one of the most epic views in Los Angeles. Chef Amy from Peas Thank You curated a menu that was as beautiful as it was nourishing, sparking conversation on the power of food, community, and conscious choices.

This dinner wasn’t just about sharing a meal - it was about weaving together stories, culture, and mission. It’s what Seatopia dinners are all about: gathering good people around good food, and reminding each other that how we eat shapes the world we live in.

Meet Kara Cook

Kara is a mom of three, a certified nutrition consultant for pregnancy, postpartum, and babies, and a celebrity fashion stylist based in Los Angeles. Born and raised in New Zealand, her roots run deep in seafood and ocean culture.

Earliest seafood memory
“I was lucky enough to be born in New Zealand so my childhood was spent by the beach eating fish and chips and diving for fresh uni with my cousins. We would throw them out of the water to one another and eat them right there on the shoreline. I don’t remember a single childhood meal from growing up in New Zealand that wasn’t seafood focused, it’s so much a part of who we are as a people.”

Why ocean preservation matters
“Ocean preservation is important to me because I grew up on a small island where ocean life is so rich and abundant. I’d love that to still be around for my children and children’s children to experience… Growing up in New Zealand I was taught to nurture and respect all ocean life as if we were all one ecosystem working in harmony together.”

What drew her to Seatopia
“I’ve been fortunate enough to experience three pregnancies but each time I had to limit my seafood consumption due to heavy metals and microplastics found in even the best wild-caught seafood. Since Seatopia third party tests all of their seafood, I know it’s the safest and cleanest option for me and my children. Once you taste the Seatopia difference it really is impossible to eat seafood from anywhere else.”

Favorite Seatopia dish
“For breakfast I love soft scrambled eggs on sourdough with Parmesan, dill, and Seatopia salmon caviar. My favorite dinner is lemon garlic salmon tagliatelle with Seatopia King Salmon — it’s a crowd favorite every time!”

Meet Luke Cook

Luke Cook is an actor best known for his roles in Good Cop, Bad Cop, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Dynasty, Modern Family, and Hacks (HBO). He’s also a creator with millions of followers thanks to his signature comedic style, irreverent ads, and authentic family moments.

What inspired him to create content around food & wellness
“I love health and wellness, but I do feel like there are missing voices that don’t yell or judge. So I’m trying to be that voice.”

How he stays grounded in LA
“It’s not easy in Los Angeles. But I try to spend as much time outside as possible.”

What drew him to Seatopia
“I knew about how necessary the nutrients in seafood were, but I knew nothing about the ethics surrounding it, and turned a blind eye to the environmental side. It feels great to be taken care of in that way.”

Favorite Seatopia dish
“Prepared by Kara. Her lemon salmon pasta blew my socks off.”

The Power of Gathering
What made this evening special wasn’t just the food — it was the way it brought people together. Kara and Luke’s home was filled with laughter, thoughtful conversation, and a shared appreciation for the ocean. Chef Amy’s menu was a work of art, but it was also an invitation to connect: with the land, with the sea, and with each other.

At Seatopia, we believe some of the most important conversations happen around the table. This night was proof of that - a reminder that when we choose clean, conscious seafood and gather in community, we create ripples that go far beyond dinner.
