Science-backed solutions for end-to-end carbon management

Seatopia deliveries have a carbon footprint. Global shipping accounts for 3% of the world’s carbon emissions. That's why in addition to planting kelp with every order via OceanWise to help reverse ocean acidification, with every order we are also support cutting-edge companies that remove carbon from the air.  We're endeavoring to build an entire seafood supply chain that's not just sustaining carbon neutrality but proactively offsetting or carbon-negative.

Quantified Carbon Neutral - How it works:

Leveraging insights from Carbon-direct.com, for every order we receive, a formula based on the box weight, dimensions and shipping distance is used to calculate the estimated shipping emissions. Based on those estimates, a portion of our revenue goes to carbon removal companies that have been vetted by scientists from Carbon Direct. Those companies use that money to remove however much carbon our shipments created. Additional funds go toward the further development of carbon removal technologies.

Meet the companies removing carbon from the sky:

    Heirloom

Heirloom's direct air capture technology enhances the carbon mineralization process. Heirloom's technology speeds up the rate at which naturally occurring minerals capture CO₂ rather than using energy-intensive fans to draw air in.
